IGT Officially Enters The North Dakota Sports Betting Market
- IGT and their platform have become the official sportsbook of the Dakota Magic Casino and Hotel.
- Their PlaySports product will be featured at the establishment for wagering on sporting events.
- The facility hopes to go live with sports betting by the 2021 NFL season.
HANKINSON, N.D. – On Thursday, it was announced that IGT and its PlaySports sports betting platform are now the official sportsbook for the Dakota Magic Casino and Hotel in North Dakota.
The gaming establishment is located in Hankinson and is a part of the Dakota Nation Gaming Enterprise, a company run by the Sisseton-Wahpeton Oyate Tribe.
PlaySports will provide the casino with all of their sports betting offerings, including self-service betting terminals that will be spread throughout the venue.
“We’re excited to partner with IGT and leverage the company’s leading sports betting platform and solutions, along with its deep-rooted expertise that will help Dakota Magic Casino and Hotel establish a successful sports betting offering,” said Weston Quinn, CFO of the Dakota Nation Gaming Enterprise.
Other Comments On The New Partnership
North Dakota has been excited to expand their gambling industry to include sportsbooks. Residents in the area will now be able to wager on sporting events with PlaySports betting lines on a multitude of games. While legislation failed to pass in the 2021 session, this has all been made possible through tribal gaming expansions.
IGT is ready to dip their toes into the new regulated gaming market of North Dakota and offer their services to North Dakotans. Their product is one of the more well-known platforms in the country.

What’s Next?
There is no word yet when the new sports betting area of the Dakota Magic Casino will go live as it’s all coming together presently. However, both sides involved couldn’t be happier to get sports wagering off of the ground in the state.

A launch will likely occur by the beginning of the 2021 NFL season to capitalize on all of the betting action that comes with the season.
