  • William Hill had a successful 2019 in terms of revenue.
  • Profit margins have shown growth and the company plans to break even.
  • William Hill US is one of the largest sportsbook operators in the country.

LAS VEGAS - William Hill US had a successful 2019. They became the first arena sportsbook operator thanks to a deal with Monumental Sports & Entertainment, they officially became a partner with the NBA, and they managed to complete their first tribal sports betting deal with the Mescalero Apache Tribe in New Mexico.

All these successes have managed to create optimism within the company to finish the fiscal year with a profit margin that would have the company break even.

Currently, William Hill US’s slew of victories in 2019 looks to place their profit margin between $185.6 million and $192.2 million. This would have them in breakeven status which is a major step up from previous years they have been in operation.

An Optimistic Future.

Per the William Hill PLC trading statement, it is clear that the US branch of sports betting operations has shown strong growth within the fourth quarter. This is thanks to both disciplined investments and overall wagering growth.

“The Group has delivered a strong operating performance, ahead of our expectations and against a challenging regulatory backdrop. We made good progress on a number of fronts, including our Retail business, Online and in the US, enabling us to deliver on our long term strategic ambitions. We look forward to building on these efforts in 2020 with a strong focus on customer, team and execution,” said Ulrik Bengtsson, CEO of William Hill PLC.

Thanks to these achievements, it’s expected that William Hill US will break even in 2019 which is compared to the guided range of $0m to -$20m.

As the statement professes, the group has made good progress in delivering their “long term ambition to become a digitally led and internationally diversified business of scale while continuing to embed a culture of responsible gambling.”

The final 2019 results will be available on Wednesday, February 26, 2020.
