Chef Gordon Ramsay To Play His Hand With Internet Casino Venture

Chef Gordon Ramsay
  • He’s famous for throwing cooked dishes at his contestants when they’re subpar, but now chef Gordon Ramsay could be throwing the opportunity of internet gambling to the public.
  • The celebrity chef has decided to trademark a business that would serve as an online betting platform.
  • Casino games are among the aspects that are covered within his trademark application.

LAS VEGAS – Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay has decided to try his luck in the online casino business. The chef and restauranteur has found success with food and is now looking toward the future which includes online gambling.

Ramsay has recently applied for a trademark that would cover multiple internet betting options that include lottery and slot machines among other highly popular casino games.

The trademark application was given to the UK Intellectual Property Office in order for Ramsay to protect his prospective new business venture. The successful restaurant owner has multiple businesses within the food industry spanning the globe.

He has five eateries in Las Vegas alone, making the idea of a shift to the gambling market less of a shock.

A Different Kind Of British Invasion

While his application for internet gaming is pending, Ramsay has not yet commented publicly about it. With the success of online gambling in the U.S. as well as on a global scale, it is no wonder that Ramsay wants in on the expanding market. In 2017, it was reported that the Gordon Ramsay Group had a loss of £3.8 million

In 2018, the company turned a profit of £500,000 before taxes. With his businesses on the upswing, now is the perfect time for Ramsay to branch out into other markets, and the internet gaming market is a safe bet. It is also rumored that he will be opening 100 burger restaurants within the U.S. as well.

Of all of the wagering options in the U.K., internet gambling has reigned supreme in terms of revenue. From April 2018- March 2019, online wagers saw a gross revenue over £5.3 billion, and that’s just in Great Britain.

Ramsay would not be the first celebrity to have business with casino operations. He would be in good company with names like Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra, and Michael Jackson who all had some stake in the gambling market.

While his current application is for U.K. operations, he could always go global as he did with his food businesses and offer legal online gambling in the U.S. The fact that Ramsay has applied at all means he sees the huge potential when it comes to wagering on the internet.

In today’s world, mobile gambling of any kind is done the most because of its sheer convenience. If his gambling operations take off, he may no longer need to throw food at people to turn a buck, but he can still always do it for fun.
