Online Casino Advertisements Now Welcomed By Google
- Google previously banned all online gaming companies from purchasing advertisement space.

LAS VEGAS – Major changes are coming in the form of online ads. While search engines like Google prevented the advertisement of online gambling industries, they have since changed their mind with the changing laws surrounding the billion-dollar market.
Earlier in December, Google made it public knowledge that they would allow for these companies to utilize their advertisement space. The change will only be allowed in four states (Pennsylvania, Nevada, New Jersey, and Delaware) as these are the only states who have approved laws supporting online casino gambling.
The addition of online gaming operators’ advertisements is expected to occur later in December or early 2020.
Google already changed its tune regarding online sports betting advertisements in the many states who have approved online sportsbooks. This addition of online casino advertisement is surely expected to raise Google’s revenue, which is predominately made from selling advertising space.
Where Will Online Gaming Operators Be Advertised?
In Google, Ad Manger is not supporting the advertisement opportunities – at least not yet. However, other platforms like YouTube, Google Ads, AdMob, and Google Display Network will offer their webspace to online gaming companies right from the start.
The changes will be made slowly, as Google wants to be sure to be careful with this expansion. Furthermore, they mentioned that Gmail, shopping advertisements, and review forums will still prevent advertisements of both online sports betting and online casino gaming.
With the industry of online gaming continuing to grow rapidly over the last two years, this is only the beginning of the changes. When more states approve online sports betting and online casino gaming, Google will also permit companies to advertise to users in these states.
