  • New Jersey and Nevada Gambling Authorities both approved betting on eNASCAR iRacing.
  • Only the 2020 eNASCAR iRacing Pro Invitational Series can be bet on.
  • Since the coronavirus pandemic started, eNASCAR has been the most watched sport on TV.

LAS VEGAS — The coronavirus pandemic has caused the entire sports world to cancel or postpone some of the biggest events of the year. The cancellations have caused many fans and sportsbooks alike to find alternate sports to watch and bet on until mainstream sports can return.

The eNASCAR iRacing Pro Invitational Series has been a bright spot for NASCAR despite the pandemic as the league has seen a rise in popularity. Now residents in the state of Nevada will be able to legally bet on virtual races at sportsbooks because eNASCAR is considered in the “other” category under state regulations.

The state of New Jersey also followed suit and allowed its residents to gamble on virtual NASCAR races as well as they consider eNASCAR an esport.

The virtual races have seen a boom in popularity with many NASCAR fans tuning in. The eNASCAR Racing Series has even become the most watched esports event on the FOX Sports network.

In a press release, FOX Sport said: “Last Sunday’s event from virtual Texas Motor Speedway drew 1,339,000 viewers across FOX and FS1, a record for eSports on linear television for the second consecutive week.”

The growth in the eNASCAR’s viewership has led to FOX broadcasting the rest of the season on its Fox Sports 1 platform.

Now that residents in both Nevada and New Jersey can bet on the eNASCAR Pro Series, expect many other states to follow suit once the coronavirus pandemic subsides. For bettors in New Jersey and Nevada being able to bet on eNASCAR will give some sports fan another option in a slim betting market right now because of COVID-19.

The next eNASCAR Pro Series Race will take place on April 14 at the virtual Richmond Raceway.
