DANVILLE, Va. – Caesars Virginia in Danville took in $36.1 million in casino revenue in September, the most among Virginia’s five casinos, as its table games revenue rose 59.0% from a year earlier, the Virginia Lottery reported Oct. 15. The $36,149,967 is adjusted gross revenue, the wagers left after winnings are paid, and it was 28.2% above September 2025.

Caesars’ Lead Over Portsmouth Grows To $10.3 Million

Caesars Virginia finished $10,261,142 ahead of Rivers Casino Portsmouth, which won $25,888,825. In September 2025, the lottery’s report put Caesars $3,900,529 ahead of Rivers, so the gap has more than doubled in a year.

Caesars’ share of the original three casinos’ combined revenue rose to 43.2% from 38.6%. Caesars’ $7,953,310 gain accounts for 75.0% of the $10,604,123 those three casinos added. Their combined revenue was $83,685,609 against $73,081,486, the lottery’s September reports show. The month was Caesars’ second-highest of 2026, behind May’s $37,997,172, according to the lottery’s monthly reports.

Tables Supply Half Of Caesars’ Gain On 12 Fewer Tables

Caesars’ table games revenue was $11,151,504 in September against $7,013,828 a year earlier, and it supplied $4,137,677, or 52.0%, of the casino’s gain. The casino listed 88 tables, down from 100 in September 2025, and has listed 88 in every monthly report since March. Dividing by those counts, each table averaged about $126,700 for the month against about $70,100 a year earlier.

The comparison starts from a low base. Across the lottery’s 15 monthly reports from July 2025 through September 2026, Caesars’ table revenue ran from $7.0 million, in September 2025, to $11.2 million, in September 2026, so the 59.0% gain spans the full range. The reports give no reason for the swings.

Slots rose 18.0% to $24,998,463 from $21,182,830, with 1,542 machines against 1,467.

Rivers And Hard Rock Together Add A Third Of Caesars’ Gain

The other two original casinos added $2,650,813 between them, one-third of Caesars’ $7,953,310, with $1,058,116 of it at Hard Rock Bristol and $1,592,697 at Rivers Casino Portsmouth.

Rivers’ table games revenue rose 10.8% to $7,373,358 on 90 tables, up from 84 a year earlier, and its slots rose 4.9% to $18,515,467. Hard Rock Bristol’s slots rose 5.3% to $17,720,127 and its tables rose 4.6% to $3,926,690, with 73 tables in both months.

Live! Virginia And Norfolk Hall Add $13.9 Million

The lottery’s report lists only Virginia’s licensed casinos, one corner of legal gambling in the state. Its September 2025 report listed three operating casinos, and this year’s lists five.

Live! Virginia in Petersburg reported $13,054,184 from 926 slot machines and 32 tables, and the Interim Gaming Hall Norfolk reported $839,593 from 132 slot machines and no tables. The Norfolk hall operates in partnership with the Pamunkey Tribe, the lottery said. The lottery’s earlier reports put the Norfolk opening at Nov. 7, 2025, and Live! Virginia’s at Jan. 22, 2026.

Statewide, the five casinos totaled $97,579,386, up 33.5% from $73,081,486.

Caesars’ Tax Bill Reaches $8.3 Million

Caesars Virginia’s state tax for September was $8,314,492, up 28.2% from $6,485,231 a year earlier and 40.2% of the $20,666,229 the five casinos paid in all, according to the lottery’s tax table. The host-city share of Caesars’ tax, which goes to Danville, came to $2,530,498, up from $1,973,766.

The October report is next. The lottery has issued all 51 of its monthly casino reports, dating to the first in August 2022, between the 12th and 15th of the following month.
