California Casinos To Gauge Gamblers’ Temperature Before Entering

Temperature Check
  • The Chumash Casino in California is going to use temperature reading kiosks in order to let people safely into their facilities.
  • If a person’s – employees included – temperature reads over 100.4 degrees, they will not be permitted access to the casino.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. The Chumash Tribal Casino is preparing to open up their doors but with some restrictions to do so. They will place temperature kiosks in order to let people into their casino.

As the coronavirus pandemic continues, all commercial casinos are still shut down.

The Chumash Casino is looking to take charge in re-opening casinos as their temperature reading kiosk plan is in full swing and looking to get the green light.

To gain entry to the casino, both the guests and employees must have a temperature reading of lower than 100.4. If someone reads higher than that, they will not be allowed to enter.

“The kiosks are FDA-cleared and are as accurate as a manual temperature reading— Access will be denied to employees or guests who exceed the temperature threshold recommended by the CDC or Public Health,” said Kenneth Kahn, Tribal Chairman.

Other safety measures are expected to be taken not only at the Chumash Casino but at all casinos in California.

Some slot machines are expected to close to help follow the social distancing guidelines as well. Also, plexiglass shields are expected to be placed in between slot machines and table games at legal casinos as well.

Those plexiglass shields are not only going to be used in California, as they have been brought up in the re-opening plans in Las Vegas as well.
